Local News in Brief : Man, 24, Jailed in Fatal Hit-and-Run

A 24-year-old man was in jail Tuesday as the suspected hit-and-run driver who killed a young boy and critically injured his cousin on New Year’s Day, Long Beach police said.
Louis Fitzgerald Burroughs, 24, was taken into custody Monday afternoon after someone telephoned police to tell them where to find the driver of a gold Lincoln Continental that struck the boy, So Den Taing, 6, and girl, Kanika El, 5, at Alamitos and 17th streets, Lt. Mike Hill said.
