CHRYSALIS: If this label were a football team, you’d call 1988 a rebuilding year. Some of the label’s vets began to show their age. Huey Lewis & the News’ album went platinum, but missed going Top Ten. Pat Benatar didn’t make the Top 20. However, Chrysalis’ critically hailed rookie squad, led by Sinead O’Connor, the Waterboys and Was (Not Was), showed all-star potential.
