UC Irvine’s Pajer Third at U.S. Open Swim Meet
Brian Pajer of UC Irvine finished third in the 100-meter breaststroke at the U.S. Open swim meet Sunday at Indiana University-Purdue University Natatorium in Indianapolis.
Earlier in the day, Pajer qualified for the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. meet by winning his heat. He then finished third in the final with a time of 1 minute 4.57 seconds.
The Anteaters’ 800-meter relay team finished fourth.
Nebraska leads the competition with 120 points after the first day of the 3-day meet. Arizona State is second (97 points), Southern Illinois third (60), Miami of Florida fourth (54) and Irvine fifth (50).
