Three persons were injured, one of them critically, in a traffic accident Sunday that backed up traffic on Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach for more than an hour, police said.
At about 3:56 p.m., a car driven by Fredd Goodwin, 28, of Orange apparently pulled out of a private driveway at 1601 N. Coast Highway on the ocean side of the street to make a left turn across the southbound lanes, Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Paul Workman said.
Goodwin’s auto was struck by a car driven by Michael Douglas Owens, 18, of El Cajon, Workman said. Goodwin was transported to Mission Community Hospital in Mission Viejo, where he was in critical condition, Workman said.
Owens and a passenger in his car, Celia Alice Scrivener, 18, also of El Cajon, were treated for “less serious injuries,” Workman said.
