Hughes Unit to Provide Satellite System for Taiwan

GERMANTOWN, Md. — Hughes Network Systems, a subsidiary of Hughes Aircraft Co., has been selected to provide a comprehensive satellite communications system for the Long Distance Telecommunications Administration of Taiwan.
The contract’s total value is about $7.4 million.
Hughes Aircraft Co. is a unit of GM Hughes Electronics. Its HNS subsidiary, with headquarters in Washington, is a major supplier of worldwide communications networks and equipment.
