Local News in Brief : Agency Helping Needy Issues Call for Blankets
Donations of blankets are being sought by a Pacoima charity that distributes Christmas packages for the needy, charity officials said Saturday.
Marianne Haver Hill, executive director of Meet Each Need with Dignity, said the nonprofit agency gives away 1,000 packages of food and toys annually to families in the northeast San Fernando Valley. During interviews with the families this year, volunteers “kept hearing that what people really needed was blankets to keep warm,” Hill said.
Twin-bed-size blankets may be dropped off at the charity’s offices through Dec. 22 at 13460 Van Nuys Blvd. in Pacoima.
