CSUN’s Lazarus Named as Soccer All-American
Steve Lazarus, a senior midfielder on the Cal State Northridge soccer team, has been selected first-team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Assn. of America.
Lazarus had 10 goals and 7 assists this season for Northridge (18-8), which finished second in the nation.
“This was a dream of mine all year, but I didn’t expect it to come through,” said Lazarus, who played at Saugus High. “I attained more goals than I actually thought would come true.”
Lazarus also was selected first-team Far West region, along with teammate Rick Iversen, a senior defender who had 6 goals and 2 assists.
