Blazers’ Bowie Gets OK to Practice Again
PORTLAND, Ore. — Center Sam Bowie of the Portland Trail Blazers, who has played in just 5 games the past two seasons because of leg injuries, was cleared Wednesday by doctors to resume practicing without restrictions, team officials said.
Bowie was checked by specialists this week in New York and Boston, who said he had recovered enough to increase the level of his basketball activity.
“We’re very pleased with the results, both clinically and with the X-rays,” team physician Dr. Robert Cook said. “We will let things evolve with measured progress dictating the speed of his return.”
