Alhambra : Parole Office Sites Studied
Five potential locations for a parole office have been reviewed by the state General Services Administration, which will notify the cities where the sites are located, City Manager Kevin Murphy said Wednesday. GSA officials declined to say which cities are involved.
The cities will have 60 days to decide whether they want a parole office in their community, Murphy said.
GSA wants to relocate a controversial parole office now at 1723 W. Garvey Ave., Alhambra. Residents who live near the parole office, which opened in May, complain of increased crime in the area and want the facility removed.
City officials hope that lease negotiations for a new parole office site can begin in February, with a possible move in April, said Murphy.
