Harvard Goalie Bercutt Honored in Water Polo
Larry Bercutt, a junior goalie who helped Harvard High capture the Southern Section 2-A Division water polo championship, was named Tuesday as the division’s player of the year.
Bercutt was joined by Harvard teammates Justin Cheen, Damon Willick and Tim Pennington as All-Southern Section selections. Jed Simon was named to the second team and Reid Babin the third. Sophomore Brian Border rated honorable mention.
Harvard (27-3) claimed the first water polo championship among Valley-area teams since 1981 by defeating La Serna, 8-6, in last week’s 2-A final.
