Rebels in Ethiopia Say They Killed 180 Soldiers

NAIROBI, Kenya — Rebels in northern Ethiopia said Friday that they killed 180 government soldiers and captured 86 in a battle near Adi Kwala in Eritrea province last weekend.
The clandestine radio station of the Eritrean People’s Liberation Front, monitored in Nairobi, said rebel fighters captured 132 light weapons in the battle.
