Nunn, Kalambay Agree to Fight
A tentative agreement has been reached for a middleweight unification fight between International Boxing Federation champion Michael Nunn and World Boxing Assn. champion Sumbu Kalambay.
No contracts have been signed, but the fighters have agreed in principle to meet March 25, probably in Las Vegas at either Caesars Palace or the ilton.
Nunn is 32-0 with 22 knockouts. The North Hollywood fighter won the IBF title last summer and successfully defended it earlier this month by knocking out Juan Roldan in Las Vegas.
Kalambay, who lives in Italy, is 46-3-1 with 25 knockouts. He beat Iran Barkley last year to win the WBA title and has defended it 3 times this year, the last defense coming earlier this month in Monte Carlo where he stopped Doug DeWitt in the seventh round.
