USC Women Lose to Australia

The USC women’s basketball team, playing without guard Karon Howell, lost to the Australian junior national team, 79-77, in an exhibition game Sunday at USC.
Forward Joanne Moyle made an off-balance 15-foot shot at the buzzer to finish off Australia’s come-from-behind victory. USC led, 74-69, with 2:33 left. USC’s Cherie Nelson led all scorers with 26 points.
