Tropical Storm Keith’s winds increased to 65 m.p.h. over the northwestern Caribbean, and forecasters predicted that the late-season storm could develop into a hurricane and reach land in southern Florida. Although the storm was still heading northwest toward the Yucatan Channel off Mexico, forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami said they expect it to turn northeast and possibly go ashore in the Ft. Myers area late Tuesday.
