Upsets Scramble PONY Bowl Picture

Because of two upsets in the Mission Conference Saturday, half the PONY Bowl situation won’t be resolved until today.
The tentative plan was to match Mt. San Antonio College and Rancho Santiago College in the first game of the Dec. 3 bowl at Orange Coast, with Saddleback and El Camino playing the second game.
The matchup between El Camino (8-1-1) and Saddleback (8-2) appears set as long as both schools accept the bids today. But the other game is in question.
Mt. San Antonio (7-3) was upset by Pasadena, 15-14, and Rancho Santiago (6-3-1) was upset by Orange Coast, 29-19.
Moorpark (9-1) now becomes the top team being considered by the committee. The problem is to find an opponent for Moorpark.
There is also the chance the committee will decide to move back to the 1-game format when it meets today.
