President Reagan signed legislation to give consumers more and faster information about the costs of credit cards. The bill will require banks, department stores and other credit card issuers to supply details to their customers about interest rates and other charges. Banking groups worked for passage of the measure because it would prevent states from imposing differing disclosure requirements on their interstate industry.
