Castro Given Mexico’s Highest Civilian Medal

HAVANA — Cuban President Fidel Castro, receiving Mexico’s highest civilian decoration, insisted on the need for regional unity to solve Latin American difficulties.
Castro made the comment on Tuesday night at a reception where Mexican President Miguel de la Madrid awarded him the Aztec Eagle medal, the official daily newspaper Granma reported on Wednesday.
De la Madrid praised Mexican-Cuban relations saying, “We are different but we are brothers.”
