Ground-breaking ceremonies will be held Nov. 18 for a $42-million Health Services Pavilion at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood.
The 4-story, 156,000-square-foot facility is expected to be completed by spring, 1991.
The pavilion will be built on a portion of the existing 515-bed medical center complex at 3630 E. Imperial Highway.
The pavilion is the first patient services building to be constructed as part of the medical center’s master plan to rebuild the entire hospital complex.
The pavilion will include the medical complex’s cancer care treatment center, emergency services and ambulatory care center.
Built in 1945, the medial center will also celebrate its 43rd year of service during the ground-breaking.
The hospital is operated by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul through the Daughters of Charity National Health System, a nonprofit health care system.
