String bassist Paul Zibits has been named personnel manager of the Pacific Symphony. A member of the orchestra for 2 years, Zibits succeeds Bob Peterson, who resigned in September after 7 years in the post. Peterson will be moving to Florida. Zibits’ duties will include coordinating recruitment, auditioning and contracting of musicians. Zibits, 37, has taught at UCLA since 1979 and also has been a member of the Long Beach and San Diego symphonies.
