United Airlines expects by early next year...
United Airlines expects by early next year to hire 700 additional mechanics at its Oakland maintenance facility where about 500 mechanics now work. The airline said the new workers should be on the job by Feb. 15, increasing the United payroll in Oakland to $58.3 million from $18.5 million.
