MVP Players Named for Japanese Leagues

TOKYO — Taiwanese relief pitcher Kuo Yuan-tzu of the Chunichi Dragons was named the Most Valuble Player of the Central League Sunday and slugger Hiromitsu Kadota of the Nankai Hawks was named MVP of the Pacific League.
Kuo, 32, had 37 saves to help the Dragons clinch the league pennant for the first time in 6 years. He had a 1.95 earned-run average and a 7-6 record during the regular season.
