In the current issue of TV Guide, actor Perry King says his feature film career was ruined because he took a gay role in “A Different Story” in 1978 (“Playing a homosexual really hurt my (film) career.”) Gosh, we wonder how William Hurt (“Kiss of the Spider Woman”), Michael Caine (“Death Trap”), the late Robert Preston (an Oscar nominee for “Victor, Victoria”), et al., managed to find work after those pictures. . . .
