McDonald’s Corp. said third-quarter profit rose 17% to $191.3 million, boosted by record sales throughout its worldwide, 10,000-restaurant system. Revenue rose 11% to $1.46 billion. Sales grew as Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald’s introduced salads in 1987, increased its breakfast sales and sponsored marketing such as the Olympics promotion. The company also was helped by lower U.S. tax rates this year.
