Buckman Springs
Bail was lowered to $100,000 for Ronald Elliott Porter, who is accused of assaulting a 29-year-old woman after choking her into unconsciousness in the Buckman Springs area.
Municipal Judge Robert P. McDonald reduced bail Tuesday from $250,000 for Porter, 41, of Escondido, who is being held in connection with the Oct. 12 attack on the woman. Other charges filed against Porter stemming from the incident include assault with a deadly weapon, assault with bodily injury, oral copulation with an unconscious person, sexual battery and false imprisonment.
Jack Campbell, Porter’s attorney, argued for the bail reduction because his client is being held for a single incident involving a single victim, although it occurred in the same area where three other women were attacked. An investigation is continuing into the other attacks.
