Arcadia : Business Fees Doubled
The City Council has raised fees for business licenses for the first time in 20 years, bringing the fees closer to the county average fee schedule.
The measure approved 3 to 2 last week doubles business fees across the board. Annual revenue from the fees will increase from $300,000 to $600,000, Finance Director Alan Murphy said.
The average business license will go from $25 to $50 beginning in January, and the per employee fee will go from $5 to $10.
A city survey of fees in 51 cities in the county revealed that Arcadia’s fee schedule was in the bottom 10%.
