BANKING / FINANCE
In an effort to lure more customers to its TRW Credentials service division, TRW’s consumer information operation in Orange has joined with Chase Manhattan Bank to solicit the bank’s 3 million credit card holders.
The marketing program is the largest of its kind for TRW, said Mel Wellerstein, vice president and general manager of TRW Credentials. The bank will be paid an unspecified amount for each Chase credit card customer who buys the TRW service.
TRW Credentials, which has picked up about 500,000 customers in its two years of operation, provides its consumer members with unlimited copies of their own TRW credit reports, notifies them of anyone receiving copies of their credit reports, allows them to store personal financial information in TRW’s database and registers their credit cards to facilitate notices for changes of address and loss of cards.
