Steve Wynn, the flamboyant hotel and casino operator who sold his Golden Nugget casino in Atlantic City, N.J., last year, has agreed to purchase Del Webb Corp.’s Claridge Casino Hotel for $110 million. Wynn’s acquisition of the financially troubled Claridge from the Phoenix-based company is subject to approval by New Jersey gaming regulators and Atlantic City Boardwalk Associates, the limited partnership that leases the Claridge’s real estate. Del Webb, which has a 10% interest in the Claridge, has the management contract for the facility.
