The State : Fire Area to Get Disaster Aid
President Reagan has declared a major disaster in parts of Northern California, triggering federal aid to help the state recover from wildfires that occured between Sept. 11 and 24. The White House said the declaration will make funds available to assist state and local recovery efforts in Nevada, Shasta, Solano and Yuba counties. The assistance may include temporary housing, grants, low-interest loans and other programs.
