Candidates Clash in First TV Debate

As a middle-of-the-road registered Democrat, I concluded that Bush won the presidential debate by clearly defining the issues and establishing beyond any doubt that Dukakis is an unemotional, plastic man; a well-trained, properly programmed left-wing liberal technocrat who has been properly brainwashed by the liberal elements of Harvard’s Law School and Kennedy School of Government.
Prior to the debate, one only had to watch the Seoul Olympics and see Chinese, United States, and Russian athletes standing side by side, receiving medals as the “Star Spangled Banner” played, to realize the incredible success of the Reagan-Bush foreign policy. In 1980, under President Carter, the countries were barely speaking, much less engaging in peaceful games. This said more than 90 minutes of debate.
