Soviet-French Space Flight Set for November

MOSCOW — A 30-day Soviet-French space mission in November will include a space walk by cosmonauts from both countries and an experiment designed to help choose building materials for a future French spacecraft, Tass reported.
The official Soviet news agency said Wednesday that the space flight, scheduled to begin Nov. 21, will have a more demanding program than a previous Soviet-French orbital mission in 1982 that only lasted eight days.
Tass said the participants in the November mission are scheduled to dock with the orbiting space station Mir and unfold a metal contraption outside that could serve as the basic building block for future space platforms.
