Go-Video Inc. will drop the Motion Picture Assn. of America from the Scottsdale, Ariz., company’s antitrust suit over its dual-deck videocassette recorder. Go-Video said its settlement with the MPAA “eliminates copyright-infringement concerns as an excuse for the Japanese and Koreans to boycott Go-Video and the United States by refusing to supply critical parts for the manufacture for the VCR-2.” Go-Video’s suit originally alleged that Japanese and South Korean manufacturers and the U.S. motion picture industry conspired to keep it from marketing its dual-deck VCR.
