Westlake Trio’s Eligibility Appeal Rejected
- Share via
The California Interscholastic Federation has rejected an appeal to reinstate athletic eligibility to three Westlake High freshmen, but that ruling will be challenged today in a Ventura courtroom.
Buzz Holcomb, a Westlake Village salesman who assumed legal guardianship of a group of youth athletes from Pacoima, will seek a court injunction today on behalf of his son Erik, Brian Brison and Mukasa Crowe.
Westlake High, and the CIF have denied eligibility for one semester to the students because Holcomb withdrew them from the eighth grade in February and sent them to a private tutor.
