Hacienda Heights : Hazardous Waste Disposal

Residents will be able to dispose of household hazardous waste from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Puente Hills landfill, 2800 S. Workman Mill Road.
Used motor oil, car batteries, pesticides, cleaning products and other unwanted materials can be taken to the landfill for collection by hazardous waste contractors. A spokesman for the county Sanitation Districts, which runs the landfill, said paint, explosives and ammunition will not be accepted.
The Sanitation Districts is offering a series of hazardous waste collections countywide. The second scheduled for the San Gabriel Valley will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Spadra landfill, 4125 W. Valley Blvd., Walnut.
