An 82-year-old El Cajon man was killed and his wife was injured Wednesday when his car struck another vehicle on a Santee street, authorities said.
The accident occurred at 1:25 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Woodside Avenue, authorities said. A Life Flight helicopter took both victims to Sharp Memorial Hospital.
William Gordon Sinclair, 82, the driver of the vehicle, was declared dead at 2:33 p.m. at the hospital.
His wife, Lucille Sinclair, whose age was not available, was in guarded condition at Sharp with a broken leg, a hospital spokeswoman said.
