Democratic Convention
When Dukakis gave his acceptance speech, he left me thinking that like Rip Van Winkle, he had just awakened, and was not yet aware of all the progress made during his long nap.
Well, the working people, along with business and industry have been awake and working, and buying, and enjoying low inflation, low interest rates, low taxes, high employment, plus power lawn mowers (the governor’s hand mower takes us back to Jerry Brown’s bed on the floor).
We enjoy and feel secure with a strong defense, which the Democrats had let deteriorate to a dangerously low level, creating a situation where a fast buildup was a top priority; therefore, the Democrats must take credit for their part of the deficit.
