Cargo Ship Sent to Soviet Space Station

MOSCOW — The Soviet Union launched an unmanned cargo spacecraft Tuesday to link up with the permanently manned orbiting space station Mir, the news agency Tass reported.
“The aim of the launch is to transport to the manned Mir complex expendable material and various cargoes,” Tass said. It said all systems were functioning normally aboard the spacecraft, Progress-37.
