Police in the Dumps After Their Cruiser Breaks Down

PORTAGE, Pa. — The only police vehicle cruising the streets of Portage this week is a dump truck because the only police cruiser broke down and is in for repairs. Officials of the community of 3,500 residents decided to let police use the truck, fearing possible insurance problems if officers drove their own cars on duty.
