Long Beach Pike

The Pike! The only “sinful” place we were allowed to go while I was growing up during the Depression and World War II. The cyclone ride, the double Ferris wheel, the sideshows. We thought it was all so sophisticated.
I can understand how the people who refuse to sellout must feel, but most of our happiest times are sealed in our memory anyhow. I’d rather reminisce about the Pike and remember it anyway I choose than see a lot of old, broken down, derelict buildings that have outlived their time.
I hope those nice people who are fighting for what is left of the Pike let it go with love.
