Boy, 3, Falls Seven Stories

A 3-year-old boy who fell seven stories from a windowsill of his family’s apartment in a downtown Los Angeles hotel was hospitalized in critical condition today. The boy, whose name was withheld, was treated for severe head injuries and broken bones at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, police Lt. Leslie Lutz said. While his mother fixed a snack in another room, the child climbed onto the windowsill at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday to reach for a cat, Lutz said.
