Local News in Brief : Moratorium Extended
- Share via
The Rancho Palos Verdes City Council has extended for 10 months and 15 days a moratorium on development along the southern coast of the city until city staff can update development codes and formulate a detailed land-use plan for the area.
The moratorium, which was initially put into effect April 19, would have expired June 3 without an extension. It affects property where Hon Development Co. hopes to build a resort hotel.
Developing the new land use plan could take at least six months, said Cari Cooper, city public information officer. If the plan is not completed before the new moratorium expires, the city can again extend it for one year.
