UCI, Arizona State to Play in NCAA Tennis
The UC Irvine men’s tennis team will play Arizona State Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Tennis Championships at Athens, Ga., Anteater Coach Greg Patton said Sunday.
Irvine is one of the top eight seeded teams in the tournament, which begins Friday. Stanford is seeded first, followed by LSU, USC and Pepperdine. The fifth through eighth seeded teams are not specified by number but include Irvine, Michigan, Kentucky and Georgia.
Irvine (21-7) beat Arizona State, 7-3, in a dual meet in March. Arizona State is 18-8.
