Frank Sinatra blasted kiss-and-tell books and called their authors “pimps and whores” on Friday during an interview on Cable News Network with Larry King. The interview was described as the 73-year-old’s first lengthy TV chat in 25 years. Excerpts: Sinatra made reference to former White House Chief of Staff Donald Regan’s new book in which President Reagan’s wife Nancy is described as an ardent stargazer, saying: “She’s a famous lady, and they’re going to take shots at her . . . that’s the American way.” Ole Blue Eyes, who once worked as a copy boy for a local newspaper in New Jersey, has often spoken abrasively of the press. He unsuccessfully attempted to stop publication of Kitty Kelley’s best-selling 1986 unauthorized biography, “His Way.” In Friday’s interview, he said the parts he had read were “so far out of actuality that it’s scary.” A one-time Democrat, Sinatra said he would support Vice President George Bush’s bid for the presidency.
