Six out of 38 workers arrested after police broke up a Solidarity-led strike in the Lenin steelworks near Krakow, Poland, last week are still under arrest, opposition sources said. The sources said the six, all members of the 15-man strike committee, are being investigated on charges of organizing an illegal strike which carry a maximum jail sentence of three years. In Gdansk, three activists of the banned Solidarity trade union arrested earlier this month were also still in detention, the sources said. A strike by shipyard workers in Gdansk ended Tuesday after they failed to reach an agreement with management on various issues.
