Manager Billy Martin of the New York Yankees, who said he would take a lie-detector test to back up his claim that he was assaulted in a bar last week, declined an offer by the New York Daily News to take a polygraph exam.
“Look, I’m not backing out,” Martin told the newspaper. “I still feel I’m right.”
