The University of Maryland basketball team will play in the Freedom Bowl basketball tournament at UC Irvine, Irvine officials announced Tuesday.
The tournament will be played at the Bren Center on Nov. 25 and 26. In addition to Maryland, which was 18-13 last season under Coach Bob Wade, Irvine also will play host to Texas Christian and Georgia State.
Irvine won last year’s tournament, defeating Army and Manhattan.
Should Irvine play Maryland, it would be the Anteaters’ first basketball game against an Atlantic Coast Conference team.
