Laguna Beach’s Leach Wins Singles Title
Freshman Jonathan Leach of Laguna Beach High School defeated Alex Stienhardt of Woodbridge, 6-2, 6-1, to win the Pacific Coast League singles tennis championship Tuesday at Laguna Beach.
Leach had defeated Chris Emery of Woodbridge, 6-0, 6-0, and Stienhardt had defeated Justin Zillman of Costa Mesa, 6-3, 6-4, in the semifinal round, also Tuesday.
Gabe Pate and Randy Ivey of Woodbridge defeated John Young and Lee Kirner of Laguna Beach, 6-2, 6-0, to win the doubles title.
