Maryland Added to Freedom Field
Maryland has filled the final spot in the second annual Freedom Bowl Basketball tournament next Nov. 25-26, UC Irvine athletic director John Caine announced Tuesday.
The Terrapins join Texas Christian, Georgia State and UC Irvine, the hosting team.
Maryland, under Coach Bob Wade, was 18-13 last season and reached the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Irvine won last year’s Freedom Bowl tournament, beating Army and Manhattan.
