The Rev. Robert H. Schuller, elaborating on cutbacks resulting from recent fund-raising difficulties, said his Garden Grove broadcast ministry’s projected income for 1988 is $26 million, compared to $34 million raised in 1987. In addition to the 40 employees who have lost their jobs, the $1-million production budget will be trimmed by about 25%, a ministry spokesman said. Schuller said that Victor C. Andrews, his choice last year for the new post of chief executive officer of both the 10,000-member Crystal Cathedral Congregation and Robert Schuller Ministries, would step down for other duties, and that Schuller would assume that title. In addition, the Rev. Herman Ridder, for whom Schuller created the position of president of the congregation in 1983, will assume the title of minister-at-large. Schuller will retain his present title of senior minister, leaving him in direct charge of the congregation.
