The intruder shot and killed by a Ladera Heights woman in her home Sunday has been identified as a convicted murderer and thief, Los Angeles sheriff’s investigators said Wednesday.
The dead man, Steven Wilkes, 26, of Los Angeles, was sentenced to five years in the California Youth Authority after a 1979 murder conviction and was jailed again in 1984 for armed robbery, Detective Bill Gaynor said.
