DETROIT — A medical examiner has ruled an 8-week-old boy was smothered by one or more of his mother’s six cats, but the mother refuses to believe her pets were to blame.

Jodi LeBlanc, 22, a former veterinarian’s assistant, said she was told her son died of crib death.
